Advanced user of CareMessageCareMessage is multi-purpose communication/engagement application. For the appointment reminders, CareMessage was able to interface directly with our EMR system (Greenway Intergy) which allows our patients to confirm, cancel or reschedule their appointments via text or voice and our EMR system will automatically update accordingly to their responses. Our CareMessage rep. guided us thru the many features, modules and functions CareMessage has to offer. We learned that we can target specific patient populations in our organization and are able to setup different interactive programs with a variety of features. For example, we can upload a list of our diabetic patients into CareMessage and setup a program to remind those patients of their routine tests. We can also send text message blasts to all or some of our patients of any news and/or events in the community. CareMessage also gives us the ability to view text message responses from patients and we can respond back to them in real time.
That our organization did not implement it sooner.
When implementing CareMessage, make sure to include key stakeholders in your organization who have a grasp on the patient flow, has access to the EMR back end and vendor and marketing team who will determine the verbiage used on the communications sent to the patients.
From implementation of CareMessage to day-to-day use of the product, the overall experience has been amazing. CareMessage is surrounded by a team of experts and their knowledge of the product and wiliness to share their successes from other clients sets them apart. The monthly calls with CareMessage are always educational as we learn new ways to engage our patients. With CareMessage, we have been able to solve some major communications issues we have had over the years with our patients. The first problem we solved was the patient appointment reminders. With CareMessage, we now have a truly integrated appointment reminder system that pulls data from our EMR system, then directly contacts the patient according to their choice of communication (text or phone call), allows the patients to confirm, cancel or reschedule their appointment and directly updates our EMR system with the patient's response. The second problem we solved was communicating directly with our patients. Whether it is sending a text message blasts to all of our patients on any news and/or events in the community or targeting specific patient populations and setting up wellness programs and reminders, CareMessage makes it possible to communicate with our patients in a variety of ways that truly work. Having the ability to see the patient responses in real-time and engaging the patient with direct messaging makes this an invaluable tool for our organization.
