What do you like best?

Thing i would point out is the availability of service for people who want to learn more about it. When i first started to learn about IoT Azure was the great place for it. Straight forward I could delve into tutorials and examples found in documentation. I was particularly interested in Azure's IoT Hub and there was an example for every common programming language (C#, Java, Javascript, Python...). Entire chain from reading data on sensor to storing it in any kind of storage in Azure was straightforward to do.

At enterprise level i find that there is a lot of flexibility regarding the prices of different services, it is easy to fit any kind of business into just about right pay tier. My company has different IoT services on Azure and we could fit all into right category for paying. Best out of these are the pay as you use services which are great for mini jobs (very cost effective).

Last thing i want to mention here is Azure's App Service which can host variety of apps. Using Visual Studio is plain easy to publish an application to app service. There is great support for .Net and we had a situation where we had to upgrade our SDK to newer version. After updating the local repository it was once again enough just to re-publish the application and all was taken care of automatically!

What do you dislike?

We had a couple of situations where it was difficult to set up debugging of web applications on Azure, because the logs are in our opinion not clearly documented. Also some parts about IoT Hub are not clear even with documentation, but it was overcome-able.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Very big one actually. It enables us to connect thousand of sensors on manufacturing machines to a Hub where all data is processed and stored into multiple database systems. Then it enables us to deploy our applications and web jobs very easily. In the end it results with very complex solution for a very complex problem, but Azure has so far excelled for it.
