Aspen Student Information System (SIS) is a centralized platform for hosting and managing student data. Aspen SIS safely and securely stores data like class schedules, school events, student performance, athletic eligibility, individual health records, and much more. Aspen thus eliminates the need for multiple databases and streamlines the process of reporting student data, creating instructional plans, and applying state-specific guidelines.
Aspen Student Information System (SIS) is a cost-effective, convenient, and powerful resource for staff, students, and parents

★★★★★
Clunky and visually confusing
What do you like best?
When entering grades, Aspen refreshes frequently (like Google Docs) so your data doesn't get lost.
What do you dislike?
Aspen's visual interface is cluttered and hard to navigate. Many features are buried in menus that are hard to access and require long instruction sheets to figure out. The most frustrating part is posting grades at the end of the term -- that requires multiple steps for each class, for a process that seems like it should be able to be accomplished with one button push. Also, there's no apparent way to import grades from another source (like an Excel spreadsheet) which was a feature that was in the previous gradebook software that my organization "upgraded" from and was a huge time-saver.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Besides the auto-updating gradebook, I don't see much benefit from switching to Aspen.
