weinre is a debugger for web pages, like FireBug (for FireFox) and Web Inspector (for WebKit-based browsers), except it’s designed to work remotely, and in particular, to allow you debug web pages on a mobile device such as a phone.

Advanced user of Apache WeinreI know that many platforms have begun to include debugging tools as a rolled-up feature, but we have certainly continued to find value in this tool. Perhaps because the tool was designed specifically and exclusively for remote debugging (and not just an afterthought add-on), it's extremely effective. We're able to utilize it in a variety of remote circumstances, with phones, tablets, laptops, etc. The interface is relatively simple and easy to use. We're extremely satisfied with the tool.
I guess the major downside if this tool is a simple byproduct of its most significant strengths. As a standalone tool, integration with other tools is necessary, whereas the add-on options that I mention earlier are simpler in certain respects, requiring no such integration. In our case, we feel that the benefits and functionality of this tool easily outweigh the cons.
Make sure you consider whether or not you need a standalone tool like Apache Weinre. For many, it may be overly robust, since many platforms have debugging features built-in these days. In our case, it's well worth having a more robust standalone tool. Again, I readily recommend this tool!
The main issue that we're solving is that of bugs that our employees and users frequently suffer from. This tool allows us to resolve those bugs as soon as they arise, pushing out patches where needed, and otherwise diagnosing problems across all platforms, whether iOS or Android. The tool really is pretty nifty, and well worth it for our purposes. I'm extremely satisfied it, and would readily recommend it to others.
