Aiseesoft MTS Converter

What do you like best?

I've had great success with this program converting MTS files out of camera to a usable format for editing. I actually have the HD Converter, which is the MTS converter with additional conversion abilities that allows for converting all sorts of codecs and file types into files that can be used. In the news business and marketing business I am often given files from sources or clients as WMV or AVI file types and Aiseesoft converters rip through them quickly turning them into usable files to edit in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro. The latest upgrade allows files to be converted and include all of the audio tracks instead of being forced to select left or right channels only.

What do you dislike?

The only thing that I dislike about Aiseesoft's converters is that they have so many variations on their software that I've accidentally recommended variations to friends that did not do what I expected them to do.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Again, I will mention that I do not use the standalone version of Aiseesoft MTS converter, I use their HD converter that has MTS converter in it and it works excellent! I'm able to convert every file type and codec that I've come across. If you only have need to convert MTS files, then their standalone is probably best for you, but if you need to convert other things as well, then get the HD converter with MTS built into it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Many cameras capture video in MTS format when recording in AVCHD and Aiseesoft converters streamline the conversion of those files into files that are more compatible with popular editing software.
