Creo Schematics

Creo Schematics is a comprehensive, stand-alone 2D diagramming solution for creating 2D schematic diagrams of routed systems such as cabling, piping, HVAC and hydraulic systems. The software automates the creation of detailed 3D routed system designs from existing 2D schematics within Creo Parametric and Creo Elements/Direct. This saves time, reduces errors, and eliminates tedious manual processes by correctly interpreting 2D logic and transferring it accurately into 3D. It also improves product quality by capturing both electrical and mechanical design intelligence within a single digital model, Now, design professionals across multiple disciplines can streamline product development processes and collaborate more effectively.

Great software for creating your schematics and piping needs within Creo Parametric

What do you like best?

When attaching a wire to a block you have the ability to move it and spin it without the wire becoming detached. All of the metadata is done thru easy CSV files and setting up a central location for your library is really easy. It takes me 1/2 day to train a new end user. The software has a stand alone license set and would allow an electrical engineer to create a schematic without typing up a Creo Parametric License

What do you dislike?

Creating symbols with the current set of tools is archaic and un-intuitive as the sketch section has not been updated since the software was bought over 12 years ago. Would like to see it rebuilt as the sketcher is in the 3D package, Creo Parametric

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you are not using Creo for your harnessing, know that this software exports to Creo thru XML files and could be parsed to meet your needs in your software. the support team is great at answering complex questions.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are doing marine engine and boat harnesses. We have used this software successfully for over 12 years. We are constantly finding new ways to use it. Recently with actual electrical boat architecture drawings. It does have an optional analysis package for voltage drops.
