Chargent Payment Processing on Salesforce

What do you like best?

AppFrontier built a highly flexible product in terms of the various Gateways it could support. In a Franchise Business Model, having the ability to leverage multiple gateways for different business units in the same Salesforce Org was a key requirement. Chargent also provided flexibility to lock down supported Payment Methods per Gateway such as ACH & Credit Card.

What do you dislike?

There was not enough support for building custom payment portals although they did provide a generic that could be adjusted to some extent with CSS. As long as you have someone on your team handy with Visualforce and CSS, you'll have a good start.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The support from AppFrontier was a huge help with the implementation. They were very receptive to feedback and enhancements. Typically once a month I would receive communication of new features coming up. They also provided releases 2-4 times a year that were pretty straight forward to handle. I would get familiar with their support site as much of your questions can be answered there.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I was able to digitize payment authorizations and collections all through Salesforce. Requesting Payment information could be handled within a couple clicks instead of a manual collection over the phone or in person. While it took a little work, we were able to integrate with Salesforce CPQ & Salesforce Billing.
