Advanced user of US Data Corporation Multi-Channel MarketingTheir client manager was friendly and helpful in attempting to build the list requirements. They promptly issued a partial refund when their first list was not relevant as clearly outside our request parameters.
They provided two lists. The second list was equally unusable with the first 86 entries (20% of the list) naming random CEOs and Presidents for the SAME company 86 times in a row. Row 40 for that company was President George Bush.
When we pointed it out and requested a full refund, they declined with this response, "Of the 426 unique at home addresses, 298 of those records are unique by business address. At the very least, you have 298 potential leads for your mailing campaign; which is a $2.52 average cost per lead. I would consider that extremely effective for an experimental list build."
Their argument was the list was built manually and regardless of its poor quality and non-functionality to us, they would not refund the payment.
Caveat emptor.
We were relying on them to support our lead generation for a direct mail campaign. We did not realize any benefits as the lists were neither relevant nor usable.
