Exemplar LIMS

What do you like best?

Drag and drop workflow/Template building is easy to use and quick. The Exemplar LIMS system and Electronic Lab Notebook is configurable from the data model to the interface like record views and home pages.

Exemplar has the best searching I have seen and has integrated charting as well. So I can visualize any data table where I am...whether at result of search of within the electronic lab notebook experiment.

Sample registration is strong with support for subtypes with their own metadata. Graphical storage, materials management all pretty good.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes their updates can come too fast...it's hard to keep up.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Product shines in use cases versus the others. Do a deep dive evaluation before buying anything, including Exemplar. Demos from vendors can easily fool people.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Harmonizing our lab workflows and being able to change them quickly as needed. Sharing data between LIMS and ELN. Tracking experimental work including materials, plates, instrument data. Being able to search across the enterprise now on our data.
