PDF Studio Reviews

Raymond A.

Advanced user of PDF Studio
★★★★★
An excellent cross-platform PDF editor- the first and still the best editor for Linux users.

What do you like best?

- Allows for comprehensive editing in Linux, Windows, and Mac

- Handles Unicode fonts and international languages without a problem

- Can perform optical character recognition (OCR) on images to identify text. Very useful for older PDFs that have not been transformed into OCR text-recognizable documents.

- Offers ability to "rubber stamp" documents with premade, or custom made stamps.

- Can digitally sign documents to ensure security.

What do you dislike?

Cannot convert text to vector graphics in a way similar to Adobe's ClearScan. However, I have not encountered any PDF editor, other than Adobe Acrobat, which can perform OCR scanning and conversion of bitmap scans into vector graphic representations of the original fonts. If PDF Studio could do this, it would be, in my opinion, perfect.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you need a PDF editor for use in Linux and want to be able to use the same tool in Windows and on Mac, look no further.

If you have problems or find that certain features are missing, contact the developer. There's a very good chance they will fix your problem quickly. I have used PDF studio for ten years and rely on it for everyday use.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- Allows me to switch between different computers running Windows, Mac, and Linux using my license.

- Use PDF Studio for highlighting and adding comments to articles as I read.

- PDF Studio is significantly cheaper than Adobe Acrobat and, in my opinion, is far easier to use.

- The developers at Qoppa are very responsive and attend to bugs and user problems quickly.
