PrivacyUX for CCPA helped us get compliant quickly and securely
What do you like best?
The willingness of the PrivacyUX to help our team by walking through the granular details of CCPA integration and interpretations of the law were invaluable to help us be compliant.
Most of our work we had to do was outside of the CCPA facilitation and more about making sure our systems were ready to gather PII and delete data on request from the user. All other aspects of CCPA felt taken care of. Their secure messaging system for sending encrypted PII data safely was the highlight in their offering for our lawyers perspective. It really secures that communication while validating the recipient before they can gain access to that PII.
PrivacyUX's suggestions of how to best comply with CCPA and their ability to engineer adaptations or quick changes we requested to help us in implementation were fantastic. We always checked our final implementations with our legal counsel, but we saved a lot of back and forth with our lawyers using PrivacyUx's industry knowledge. The responsiveness of this company to help was the key to getting our solution deployed in time.
What do you dislike?
With CCPA being a young law, there's some gray areas that are hard to nail down what compliance is until it's litigated. PrivacyUX walked our team through their understandings and interpretations but at the end of the day we just don't know until there's a legal decision. This isn't a PrivacyUX failing, more of a component of young privacy laws.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're tasked with becoming CCPA compliant, I'd recommend PrivacyUX as it saves a lot of time and money in not having to develop any new systems to facilitate this law and less consulting with lawyers.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
CCPA compliance. Not having to build out complex systems for tracking requests, sending data securely, validating user identities before data transmission, displaying our privacy policy in the format dictated by CCPA were the biggest wins.
