Advanced user of Beyond CompareI needed to compare two files for a quick check on the differences and similarities. My boss notified me about Beyond Compare to use. I Google Searched for the tool and was able to evaluate it for free. It was very easy to figure out how to use it and it gave extremely fast results that were clear and colored RED for which file had only a record, and green for common records for both.
I did not find anything to dislike at this point.
If you need a comparison tool that is easy to learn on your own, then I would choose Beyond Compare. I was able to figure it out in a few minutes without using a manual, and it was very easy to install the free trial.
I needed a manual way to compare a MASTER file and an UPDATE file until my boss could set up an automated process. This was to keep an eContract membership database up to date for Customer membership discounts on training courses we provide. It was very quick and say to use for a manual check. This helped us improve Customer service by reducing the time needed to keep a database up-to-date. I was set up with GitHub access (specific to one file pairing task I perform) and I use that, but if I need to do a different file compare I would use Beyond Compare, and I would ask for a license as the cost is low.
