What do you like best?

Zoolz is very simple to deploy, uses a small program footprint and informs admins of any missed backups. It is also easy to recover data in small or big chunks.

What do you dislike?

Since it is using Amazon Glacier to keep storage costs to a minimum, it takes up to 24 hours to recover data.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Zoolz is a low cost, effective cloud backup. It should be used only as a contingency. We use Zoolz because we have several NAS drives deployed throughout our many offices. It is also advised that you have at least 11 MBps upload speed. The Zoolz client can be configured to upload streams on a single queue or, if you have more bandwidth, multiple simultaneous queues (called TURBO mode) and it can slow down the performance of the host PC.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Many of our satellite offices store critical data in Network Attached Storage devices and Local Area Network Servers. These, like any hardware, are subject to failure due to age, heat, component malfunction and the like. Zoolz backup is a cost-effective insurance policy against these failures.
