Advanced user of Xray Test ManagementThe repository is easy to use, as it utilizes drag and drop for each test case that you create in JIRA. And if you have a lot of test cases, you can select multiple cases and later drag them to a separate folder. The test execution issue type is quite useful in that you can add individual test cases, or port over an entire test plan.
It's a bit of a learning curve when getting started. It took our team about a year to realize that there are so many other tools to utilize, but didn't really understand how to get to that point. On top of that, Xray is different by JIRA account type, so the documentations different. If you don't find the correct documentation that applies to your company's JIRA account (Cloud, Server, etc...), you might end up reading through the wrong one, and being utterly confused.
I recommend Xray Test Management if your company already utilizes JIRA, as it is useful to link test cases to bugs, other JIRA tickets, etc...
Our QE Team is utilizing Xray to organize our test cases, log/link bugs related to specific builds, and look into previous test executions as a resource when planning new builds for our products. The traceability tool is useful as well, but it takes a bit of time to get an idea of how the team would organize their data to create the traceability reports themselves. Understanding the traceability report and building it was a bit of a learning curve for me, so I had to reach out to their support team, who were absolutely helpful people.
