What do you like best?
Trimble TMS has a wide array of customizations built-in to the product, which allow us to fine-tune the most minute details to fit the workflows of our transportation enterprise. The front-end can be customized through the use of menu securities, field validations, and custom views that allow us to set what each type of user has access to easily.
What do you dislike?
The software itself looks and feels outdated. It's based on older technology that gives it a more mid-2000s look and feel. The applications do have some obscure bugs that come up and get patched in later releases. It's not particularly fast and there's a lot of interconnected parts where if something goes down, it tends to bring the whole ship down with it.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Trimble TMS gives us a way to manage and integrate all aspects of our transportation business. In-house EDI gives us full control of tenders, responses, and EDI invoices, and the TMW Operations interface gives us the ability to manage the entire process from receiving load tenders or building them ourselves, to planning, scheduling, dispatching, invoicing, and settling driver/carrier pay.
