I dislike lack of an in-built character creation tool, such as Game Character Hub, that could otherwise help to keep all my work in the same place.
I would just go for it. Given the price point, ease of use, large number of features, and the fact that you can use this software to create a game with no previous experience, RPG Maker VX Ace is totally worth it.
RPG Maker VX Ace has allowed me to produce games that, given my experience, I otherwise wouldn't have been able to. As such, it's namely allowed me to move into a field otherwise inaccessible to myself.
