Puck

What do you like best?

Puck is incredibly simple to install and use. Rarely am I able to install and run python tools so smoothly. Puck does only one thing and one thing really well! It's so simple anyone running Python apps/tools should use it.

What do you dislike?

Puck is open source but only maintained by one very active contributor. So, theoretically, if there were bugs, everyone using Puck would be blocked waiting on that contributor to fix the bug. Thankfully, I think Puck is simple enough that that situation should never happen.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Considering it literally takes 5 minutes to set up and will save you hours over a year, just set it up for all your Python apps or tools.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use Puck to make sure all our Python development tools are up to date, as checking them manually is tedious and yet important (to avoid security issues).
