A great product for portfolio, program and project management
What do you like best?
Easy to configure to suit local work models and processes. Implementing PM3 also triggers positive challenges to historic ways of working which may have been less productive and more labour intensive for Project Managers.
The portfolio tool enables PMOs to group plans and quickly create dashboards and reports to meet the needs of boards, committees and SROs.
What do you dislike?
Nothing to dislike. The system is constantly evolving in response to our comments and feedback, so what may be a small issue in one calendar quarter is often resolved in the next update (3-4 updates per year).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The PM3 license structure enables you to start small and then additional licenses as required. Implementing PM3 will drive a culture change for PPM in your organisation. A robust change management and communication plan will facilitate deployment and adoption.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Legacy approaches using excel spread sheet tools and complex document merging are being eliminated, creating less admin and more value adding time for the PMO.
PM3 is helping to address the issue of inconsistent approaches and definitions associated with how programmes and project should be delivered.
As we are deploying it at a system level it is also moving all partner organisations to a common platform which is improving visibility and collaborations across organisation.
