Advanced user of PlantPlant has been a great tool for my team to use to version share our work on Sketch. Versioning is very easy, when you make a change you push the file. Plant then updates anyone else who has the file to download the push. Pretty simple!
However, a month or 2 ago they pushed an update that blew up the internal file structure of the files on Plant. When we reached out to ask them how to resolve the problem we got really short, brisk answers and essentially "We can't do anything for you, nor did we do anything wrong" despite all our files becoming unlinked, and therefore ruining the structure of the symbols in our Sketch files.
I ended manually fixing the problem myself by 1 by 1 relinking symbols to the file, however, I was really disappointed with how they handled the update and communication. They didn't warn anyone beforehand, and even afterwards you had to reach out to them via email and wait to hear back to know that you had to go through a very manual process to fix the problem.
Solving a way to share versioning of shared files without using Sketch Cloud. On our team, we have one designer working on a file at a time usually. I imagine it would get complicated if you have two designers working on the same file at the same time.
