Advanced user of PhotoDirectorThe interface is very intuitive so that it is easy to edit photos and to keep them organized with tags, etc. There are beautiful automatic filters that you can apply, or you can adjust each element separately. It offers layers, so that you can stack functionality. I also love that you can see all the folders where your photos are within the interface of the main window, and there is a reel of images in your current folder at the bottom of the window so that you can quickly move through them. All the tools you need are right there so that you are not constantly moving between windows. If I want to edit details and throw the photo into a collection that I am currently editing, that's easy. Then I can tag it and add it to other collections when the editing process is complete. The intuitive categories of the collections, such as "recently edited" or "5 stars" or some other folder like wherever your cloud folders reside are so very helpful when trying to get a lot of photos organized. You also have a "Calendar View" where they display by date added, which is very helpful. Then there is the facial recognition technology so if you are searching for a particular person, you can go right to the images of them.
The biggest negative is the price, I suppose. But, typically you get what you pay for. It is not overly expensive and comparatively, it is reasonable. There are really just not too many negatives about this software. The interface is easy to learn, so the learning curve is fairly short. The photo editing capabilities are pretty extensive and with the added dimension of layers, it is very similar in function to Photoshop but with added organizational capabilities within the main window. Having everything in one place really increases the efficiency of my workflow.
Weigh your options and your needs. This is a powerful software for photo editing and organizational abilities. If you only need the photo capabilities without the features of Power Director, then it is very affordable. This software by having everything in one place really could really help you save time and increase the efficiency of your workflow. If you work with social media, you know that it is so helpful to be able to scale images down and resize them. This is perfect for that. As a fine artist, in addition to the tools I use for web design, I also use the artistic filters to help me compose photos tha tI may paint from. The "Guided Effects" section is very useful for that. The photo editing capabilities are pretty extensive and with the added dimension of layers, it is very similar in function to Photoshop but with added organizational capabilities within the main window. Having everything in one place really increases the efficiency of my workflow.
The real star of the Photo Director show for me is the organizational capabilities and all the features of editing being housed and readily available in one window. Having everything in one place really increases the efficiency of my workflow. I have a number of different website clients who need photos edited at a moment's notice. Going right to the folder where their images are stored and tagged for different items, for instance, with my wedding invitation vendor things like wedding invitations, save-the-dates, response cards, programs, etc. is a real bonus.
