KnowBe4, the provider of the world’s largest security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, created the PhishER platform to help security teams analyze, prioritize and manage email that has been reported as suspect by employees.
PhishER is a simple and easy-to-use web-based platform with critical workstream functionality that serves as your phishing emergency room to identify and respond to user-reported messages.
With PhishER, your team can prioritize, analyze, and manage a large volume of email messages—fast! The goal is to help you and your team prioritize as many messages as possible automatically, with an opportunity to review PhishER’s recommended focus points and take the actions you desire.
PhishER processes user-reported phishing and other suspicious emails by grouping and categorizing emails based on rules, tags, and actions. PhishML, the custom machine-learning module, analyzes messages and generates confidence values which are used to tag messages. PhishRIP helps you easily find and quarantine suspicious messages still sitting in mailboxes across your entire organization.

What do you like best?
PhishER provides technology administrators with the tools they need to more effectively and efficiently ensure employee security. With the click of a button, users can report phishing attacks to the organizational administrator. The administrator can then review submitted emails and, if enabled, use PhishRIP to remove them from all employees' mailboxes proactively rather than reactively. The service provides multiple reporting methods, including email forwarding, Gmail plugins, and Microsoft Outlook plugins.
What do you dislike?
Employees using Gmail's reporting plugin are required to agree to a popup authorizing PhishER. Some think this is a scam in itself and are reluctant to give it permissions. It would be ideal if there were a way for the organizational administrator to accept the permissions on the employees' behalf.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We have had users go out and purchase gift cards because of a phishing email they received. Additionally, the FBI has warned of increasing cyber phishing attacks to gain corporate network access. This program is the most comprehensive way to ensure that users are safe.
