Advanced user of Oracle EssbaseAllows you to pull company financial data into Excel. It allows you to do account reconciliation, division level financial statements, all kinds of queries. It also allows various cubes within the company. You can have data sets for different operations, such as marketing and financial reporting. It is very flexible, I frequently break stuff up by division and unit.
Sometimes it crashes! That is sometimes I lose connection with the server and it makes everything in Excel freeze up. This is very frustrating.
It can take a team to implement.
Account reconciliatons, unit and division level financial statements, month/ytd comparisons, loading plan and forecasts for all businesses. Also building accounts and views which can be automatically downloaded into 10-K, 10-Q and other SEC filings. it is used by a huge number of people at our company. It is hard to imagine doing business wihtout it.
