It is Open Source and that gives it an advantage over others

What do you like best?

The first thing I like about this tool is that it is an open source application, being an option against Ms Project which we already know. I think that it offers the possibility of working on our projects from a simple and easy application, which incorporates the vast majority of the options of its competitor. It offers compatibility with MS Project files and also the possibility of working with Gantt charts, PERT, among others.

What do you dislike?

Despite not being a commercial product, this tool is viewed with suspicion by many. However, in my opinion, it offers all the necessary and sufficient features to work on various projects. And I am not talking about small and simple projects, but also the possibility of working with large projects.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Many people sometimes by company guidelines using trademark project managers to think that open source products are of few features and less robust. But nothing is further from this. It is actually a very complete tool

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

For projects that my work team and I manage, we use this tool in addition to a commercial one because it also allows us to control all aspects related to project management, such as planning and scheduling, resource management and allocation, simulation. alternatives in critical processes, etc. It also provides the necessary functionality to work with multiproject environments. It also allows us to monitor the different stages of a project: budget, definition, estimate, etc. When a project is finished, there is a history where each of the previous points are reflected. To extend its functionality, there is an additional version that includes additional features that share the same work environment.
