High standard of account management, jury still out on how well their algorithm works
What do you like best?
New Engen's account teams are very professional and knowledgeable to work with. In terms of account management, they quickly grasp our strategy and goals and can transfer those into plans for our search channels. They also have a slew of growing services that makes it easy to stay with them as an agency and platform, from providing creative services to handling most all major channels and platforms for digital marketing. I'm impressed with their founders and they're always looking to improve and expand what they offer to their clients. They are a major growth partner for us and us for them. They're still growing and have only been around for a few years, but they have the people to do the job really well.
What do you dislike?
i'm still unsure how well their platforms compare to others (Kenshoo, etc.), but overall we've been pleased with performance. Some of it is a black box and we don't have a view into how their algorithm or engine works, other than what they tell us. There's no user interface like there is with Google or Bing. We give them direction and they plug it into whatever platform they have created for their engine. Clients don't get access to it, although they do give access to their Tableau reports that they can create for clients ad hoc.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We're definitely able to grow together with New Engen. Their claim--and we've proved it somewhat in some testing--is that their engine performs better than a human, and it's helped us scale up spend and revenue. Machines combined with humans (which is what their company is based on--their engine combined with great marketers) makes for a good match for growth. They take the load of day-to-day marketing channel care and grooming and get our accounts running smoothly.
