Highly-Configurable and Powerful Data Quality Tool
What do you like best?
After deciding on a third-party solution approach to align accounts between multiple data sources, MIOsoft performed the installation and initial configuration. The preliminary match results were solid and we worked with MIOsoft to further refine match criteria and algorithms in order to deploy and integrate their software with our development environment.
What do you dislike?
The primary detractor that we encountered with the MIOvantage platform was its ease-of-use/UI. While we utilized and implemented only a subset of the platform's functionality, I feel that the ability for the average or new user to a) determine how the product works, and b) how to add new/refine existing logic and functionality is low.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
MIOvantage is a fairly large and complex platform and my primary recommendation for others considering this solution is to dedicate internal resources to being involved in the implementation process and really learning the software. As noted, MIOsoft performed the initial setup/configuration and we only utilized a small portion of its functionality. That said, I do see its potential in other areas/applications, but having an internal product champion for the platform is critical to gets the most out of this product.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We were looking to internally create or implement a third-party solution that would facilitate the mapping of accounts between disparate data sources in a common data model for further analysis. MIOsoft's product won out in terms of functionality, being a local resource/partner, and allowing us to have the solution initially implemented and configured without internal resources.
MIOvantage delivered the functionality that we were looking for in relatively short order and allowed us to further develop our integration plan with our BI/analytics platform.
