Cloud testing a landing page
What do you like best?
For one of our clients we used LoadView by Dotcom Monitor LLC to load test a major launch of their landing page for a mobile app.
LoadView is really easy to use and hence has a short learning cure. By using a the EveryStep recorded the browser actions of the user are recorded and can be manually edited and extended afterwards. The tool can handle logins too.
Once the test steps have been saved, the load can be configured. The options for configuring the load are extensive: the number of parallel users, the increase, the duration and many more settings can be set with many different options.
The location of the test servers can be chosen from around the world from various AWS data centers.
The simplicity and value for money really stand out.
What do you dislike?
The tool can still be improved by allowing for transactions, by setting start and end points to measure and report critical business transations. A feature to combine multiple tests and ensure they run exactly the same time would be great. Tests can be timed, but may not run exactly according to the schedule. Firefox was missing as a browser choice.
