Advanced user of i-Ready Learningi-Ready is a great program that allows administration, teachers, and staff to track progress and data of their students. The Diagnostic is given 3 times a year (with included reports that give suggestions to help). I like the individualized path and lessons students can complete independently based on their results from their diagnostic. Our district uses Ready Classroom Mathematics so the lessons are also aligned for additional practice and support. I like the different report options they have available to track completed lessons and completed teacher-assigned lessons (new this year). I like that we (as teachers) can assign Comprehension Checks ourselves for math.
i-Ready has Standards Mastery's to give as a way to check mastery of different standards. Some of the math does not fully align with the test-time specs like they should so they are not as useful as they could be. Another thing about using Standards Mastery assessments are that they can only be assigned by someone with admin access (a normal teacher account doesn't allow you to). I wish that there were more practice pages readily available for each lesson in both reading and math (but especially math).
If you're looking for a program that will provide you useful data (multiple reports within a click of your mouse), teacher resources (for all learning levels: above, on, and below levels), and individualized learning paths (independent online learning through lessons, interactive practice, and learning games (math)) for your students, this is definitely the program to pick! i-Ready is always encouraging feedback and improving their program based on suggestions they've received. i-Ready also has resources to share with parents to keep open communication (family letter to go home after each diagnostic, Parent Letter for the beginning of each lesson with suggested activities in math, and other helpful tips and tools to help at home).
It is helping me to close gaps in learning that students may have. It also helps to challenge the students who are above-level. Students love to pass lessons and earn the "tokens" for lessons passed and then earn the opportunity to "spend" them in the store (we have them turned off so it doesn't cause a distraction when they're supposed to be working on their lessons).
