Recommendations to others considering the product:
- Recommendation to others considering HPE synergy is to have segregated san virtual connects if the bandwidth is high and the budget allows
- If Administrators don't have experience with HPE Oneview, they will have a learning curve to understand how things shall be managed and how it is structured (but it is not complicated)
- Use a single LAG to combine all the network uplinks to have higher bandwidth
- Always update all the components including one view, Virtual connects, frame links, compute modules ... Since Oneview is ameliorating fast
- Watch out for the firmware update compatibility matrix from the HPE website at first it is a bit confusing
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Easier management especially when You have a large number of compute modules.
Easier patching process using the composer SPP
Higher bandwidth and compatibility with Cisco ACI for the HPE Virtual Connect 40G
