Flourish

What do you like best?

I've been using Flourish for roughly two years and it's my favorite tool for visualizing data. I've tried most tools on the market (we are a research company that helps companies publish research-driven thought leadership). Flourish is unique in (a) how much flexiblity it offers in terms of dataviz types, (b) ease of use, (c) excellent styling tools, (d) excellent tools to markup charts w/ footnotes, source lines, etc. I'm also a huge fan of their animated charts, which I haven't yet found an application for but look at longingly. :)

What do you dislike?

It takes a little bit of practice to figure out how to use it. I've used Tableau, which I found very challenging to use without many hours of training. Flourish is much easier to use for people who are data-savvy but not code-savvy. That said, the menu will feel overwhelming at first. Give it time. The reason it feels complicated is that the tool is robust.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It produces a wide range of dataviz types with little work required. It's much more adaptable and robust than simple tools like Google Charts (and don't even get me started on Excel charts), but not so hard to learn as Tableau.
