Great alternative to the big guys!
What do you like best?
I have been on 5 different ERP systems in my career. While others may have been more robust, this package does a good job at the basics. But I must say, they are hands down the best at support that I've ever worked with. Most all techs seem very familiar with the software and get answers fast. They have live chat which works very well and wait times have been minimal if any. The software is easy to use and get new employees up to speed on and for small companies, it is one of the few that integrates with Quickbooks.
What do you dislike?
My biggest pet peeve is the lack of information readily available. While you can get things like usage and last transaction dates through reporting, I have been used to seeing it on the screen with part information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Whether it's Fishbowl or another system, anyone considering new inventory software needs to look at their end goals and 'perfect world' wishes before evaluating. Make sure your software vendor understands your immediate needs but also your wish list for future use. There will be pros and cons to all and you will need to balance out what you can do without in relation to cost or other complexities.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
The biggest thing that Fishbowl Inventory helps us with is movement of product, either through our manufacturing process or simple shipping and receiving. It has increased our efficiency in areas of work orders and manufacturing orders using Bill Of Materials and Kitting.
