Advanced user of ElmerAll the parts of the software are independent keeping the main solver Elmer solver separate which is used to solve the physical modeling. Multi platform support. The program is free.
There are too many bugs in the solver. It frequently crashes. Being open source, the release cycle isn't good. It is also not quite regulated as the other market software which go through a series of QA tests before the final version is made is public.
The software tool is free so anyone can try it before making a purchase decision.
Used ElmerSolver for FEA thermal model analysis on a pump casing where the thickness of the material used is crucial as it helps the heat dissipate faster and the flow to be regulated.
