Advanced user of DuolingoI like how Duolingo makes language learning simple and intuitive by reducing the amount of grammar that you have to deal with and gradually teaches you more and more about ho the language works as you level up skills. This makes learning both engaging and to some level game-like, ultimately turning the experience into something fun instead of dull and boring. It doesn't even feel like work!
But my favorite thing by far is the fairly recent feature: Duolingo For Schools. It has made my job as an ESL Teacher easier since it allows me to track the students progress and therefore their overall interest in the language. It even helps the students refresh what they learn in class.
I don't dislike anything in particular. One thing to pay attention to, however, is that although Duolingo is a great app to start learning the language, it's not a replacement for formal language learning as it falls short when it comes to conversational practice and immersion.
Duolingo mainly helps me stay engaged with the languages that I'm interested in and develop love for new ones I might come across. Lastly, it allows me to keep track of the progress of my friends, making learning competitive. I can also track the progress of my students and during class inquire about what they've been learning as a way of practice. Duolingo just keeps getting better overtime.
