Advanced user of CompositeIt's great that Composite (Formerly Toxik) came with the standard Creation Suite Package. It is a "Node" base compositor like Nuke and unlike AfterEffects which is a layered/stack compositor. It was a full featured compositor app. Composite is great because of the interoperability with Autodesk 3D renders. When working with Autodesk products for multi layered renders Composite could import all the different render passes in one import. This saved time and tedium.
Eventhough I still use Composite it is now discontinued. However, MatchMover was also discontinued for a time but was brought back by customer demand. So I wouldn't write it off completely. Many studios still use SoftImage from Autodesk even though it was also discontinued.
Composite has a fast, friendly interface and there's still lots of tutorials on Youtube or by CMIVFX and PluralSight if you have a download from a previous version of Entertainment Suite or the last available download which was free.
If you have it use it.
If you are going into studios as a production person then use Nuke.
Composite is still very useful.
Composite served as a 3D render preview, edit and compositor. It could be utilized for animation as well as stills. Autodsesk is moving forward with Flame as a compositor but if you are a small studio you may want to use Composites for extra seats.
