What do you like best?
Helps us properly attribute a user and their in-app activity to an individual ad which gives us an incredible opportunity to make better ad choices, better spending choices and improve overall performance. Without knowing which ads our most engaged users are coming from, we have no idea how well we are truly doing.
What do you dislike?
The engineering effort for proper setup is pretty intense, and an ad creator has a steep learning curve in knowing how to use branch - which links to use and how to set them up. I don't feel comfortable having anyone else on the team use branch for setup. I feel it has to be my engineers who create the links that then the ad team uses for the ads.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a great engineering team, this will be no problem to implement. You do need to set aside a proper sprint and fully spec how integrated you need Branch to be to achieve the desired result. It's a powerful tool though and incredible with the data it can enable.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Ad attribution and the ability to customize user on-boarding based on which ad they saw. This is a game changer for us in customizing our user experience to match their marketing experience, and to optimize our user base to be the best performing users we can. It's unusual for a startup of our size to have this much sophistication or even any level of attribution, but it's given us a competitive edge in fundraising being able to properly attribute performance.
