Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) delivers data protection and disaster recovery for every type of workload. Backed by heterogeneous, image-based technology that protects to and from any target, it’s the first of its kind to combine enterprise-ready features without the complexity of traditional enterprise solutions. Deployment modalities include software, physical appliances and hybrid cloud.
Easily turn on and off capabilities as needed, and scale hybrid business continuity topologies, locally or over long distances with multiple sites, including service and cloud providers. Installation is done in a few clicks. Create data stores on the recovery point server, add the nodes you want to protect, a storage destination, and a plan.
Back up to either a local machine or a central recovery point server (RPS) with global, source-side deduplication. A destination can be an RPS, local folder, or remote shared folder. Add network CIFS/NFS shares, Office 365 Exchange or SharePoint online nodes, and create related tasks.
Perform jobs such as backup, virtual standby, instant VM and replicate. Perform a simple restore or a bare metal recovery.
Fully protect a broad range of platforms, including: Windows, Linux, Amazon EC2, Microsoft Azure, Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business), Microsoft Exchange, MS SQL, file servers, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft Active Directory, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, VMware vSphere (agentless), Microsoft Hyper-V (agentless) and Nutanix AHV.

★★★★★
Arcserve UDP a complete protection system and quality !!
What do you like best?
It is one of the main platforms that gives us all the data protection capabilities that we need for our intense workflow without having deep complexity that we do not need to implement on all staff. Its features are important for unifying protection across all workloads and simplifying them at scale. With its functions we manage to prepare all our infrastructures, thinking about the future, establishing the best data protection and disaster recovery for each type of workflow. In turn, making use of its heterogeneous image-based technology that provides security from any objective.
What do you dislike?
The visual appearance is not the best on the market, it is good but not so much to be considered the best, its functionalities are, but this aspect needs to be improved so that it is totally the best platform in all its areas and does not have negative aspects. However, as a work team, we focus on improving our benefits and we achieve this through its powerful tools, and we do not focus on appearance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Arcserve UDP is designed to proactively mix technologies so that you can completely simplify an infrastructure and run a mix of local, virtual, and SaaS-based systems and applications. It's a comprehensive solution that encompasses all of these diverse application environments, forgetting that organizations can be susceptible to downtime and data loss. It is also very effective in protecting critical data against damage or destruction with the least possible effort, simplifying the risk of regulations. It is a powerful solution with which you can strengthen business systems and applications.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We prevent data loss and prolonged downtime on cloud, on-premises, virtual, and SaaS-based workloads by using only one unified central management interface. We reduce downtime by validating recovery times and scores with automated testing and granular reporting. We accelerate time to value without the need for extensive training or additional professional services. Our entire system now scales upward as we keep turning capabilities on and off with no forklift upgrades or additional products.
