Eclipse's Front End Powerhouse

What do you like best?

Quite fast. Sure, it's overpowered in some respects because it can allow you to switch, but the fact an IDE cares enough to let you do so is cool. I did enjoy it before I went the Sublime way because it was very resourceful. Plug and play fun with some of the irks taken away. Eclipse was the modern IDE of yesteryear because of the various ways you can add to the rep.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes, it would crash if it not the standalone. Guess it's something you had to deal with at one point or another. It's a Front Ender's dream, so you can add PHP and Coldfusion support. Eclipse is not lightweight at all when you Lego build your layout. These days, though? it's harder to justify a not-so-faster solution than the current guys out there. Code even is a better alternative and I'm no where near a Microsoft backer. Aptana is probably the sledgehammer than can kill a fly or the swatter. If some more of the fat was taken out of the Eclipse part, I'd probably praise it better, but in the look department, it still looks like it came out during the first recession. Modernize it. Get the animations cleaner or take them out completely.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

For a web developer only experience.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It was an IDE that had localhost built in before relying on xamp installs and path memorization. You would need more to do what was required, but it was the hybrid service of choice. For components, sure it can do the job.
