Comprehensive software for Aviation MRO.
What do you like best?
Aerotrac is a useful tool to track maintenance of both fixed wing and rotary wing components by monitoring their usage hours and cycles. It is quite a comprehensive software, important for both forecasting & planning and a week's training can be helpful in getting started.
Aerotrac is simple in application and has a transparent, user-friendly, descriptive interface. The best aspect of it is that it integrates several departments such as Logistics, Commercial, Quality Assurance, Finance etc. Getting orders from Technical-CAMO team to approvals from Finance and QA is inherently streamlined through this MRO software. For someone like me who works in the Procurement department, I feel that Aerotrac is comprehensive to include a number of business processes, making it easy to coordinate and source parts and components from the world over.
What do you dislike?
The major fallback of this software is that it uses old technology and is quite outdated. I feel that the processing speed is quite slow- one has to convert 64bit OS to 32bit OS to work, and definitely requires upgrades.
Being a software rich in data, it is understood why a mobile application is not available, making it challenging for us to work on the go.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd recommend AeroTrac as it is comprehensive enough to cover engine component overhauls, part sales, fixed and rotary wing maintenance and continuing airworthiness management (CAMP) requirements to cater to our daily and AOG requirements. It is a comprehensive and user-friendly solution that offers control to all linked business processes, be it Technical, Logistics, Finance, Quality, and Commercial. The company offers unmatched support and training as well.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We use Aerotrac to order a wide range of components, engine assembly, materials, and parts on a daily basis. It has been useful for monitoring the quality of work, performing correct billing to correct customer at the right time for a wide range of customer aircraft, both fixed and rotary wing. The best aspect was that this software seamlessly integrated into the accounts system at our company whilst carrying out efficient planning and execution of the tasks as required. I'm happy to recommend Aerotrac as an MRO software also because of its long term operational costs.
