Advanced user of Adobe AuditionJumping into Adobe Audition, especially when transitioning from free or inexpensive audio editing platforms might seem like a daunting task at first, but you'll soon discover how easy it is to grasp the basic concepts. Basic editing is a breeze, and I was able to jump right in thanks to my experience with Audacity, Cool Edit, ProTools, and Dalet.
The advanced features are the most impressive aspect however. Noise reduction tools have saved me an infinite amount of time trying to repair audio recorded in noisy areas. The integration with the rest of the Adobe Creative Cloud platform make editing audio tracks from my videos simple.
As great as the advanced tools are, there is a learning curve that can be rather frustrating. When applying a filter to your audio file, be prepared to spend a fair amount of time adjusting settings and playing with levels before you will be happy with the result. I'm sure that people who are more learned on this product will need less time, but for people like me who focus on visual products, it can be a pain.
As with all Adobe products, the system requirements can tax computers. Audition is probably the least demanding in those aspects, but be prepared for some lag if you are launching Audition from another product like Premiere.
Adobe Audition has been fantastic for all of my audio needs and has become my primary audio editing platform. I am able to work quickly and accurately, and the advanced features make my audio tracks sound great.
