ShopVox for a Small Shop

What do you like best?

We started using shopvox after using paper documents and sticky notes (seriously!) then we used Trello boards for creating out own office workflows and task management. Shopvox offered the perfect customizable display and workflow creation with automation for a sign shop. We were able to enter all of our materials and get accurate pricing and profitability, as well as easily manage tasks from each stage. A huge feature we love is the proofing feature for clients, which once approved automatically moved the project into the production phase for us. No more waiting on clients or missing emails or losing sheets of paper!

What do you dislike?

It took A LOT of setup. I would recommend investing in the ShopVox team to send someone out to help set up the software to meet your needs the best way possible. They offer an array of different guided set-up options, all for a range of fees and lengths of time. We opted for self setup, which in the the long run cost us more money to figure out and implement. We had to get all teams (design, sales, accounting) on board to use the system in its entirety to quote, price, proof, produce, ship, and invoice a project from start to finish. With none of us really knowing what to do, how to do it, and what the capabilities of the software truly were, the first 6 months had a huge learning curve. But now we love it, and we can't imagine going back to paper and sticky notes.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Definitely let their team help you with the set-up and implementation. Their customer service is wonderful, they even have a chat feature for quick help and questions, and they do a great job communicating problems as they arise or any functionality that is scheduled to be down.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Internal communications has become much easier. Our sales team is able to accurately quote and price a project and list the specifications for our designers to lay out, proof directly to the client and then have it automatically sent to production. Our workflows have become so simplified, and if there is a new project of custom job, creating a new one is simple and easy. Productivity has definitely gone up with the job step tacking feature, and we are able to more accurately track the time our projects take in our production and fabrication facility, leading to better pricing and more profitability on jons.
