Advanced user of Exclaimer Mail ArchiverThis software uses the built in Microsoft SQL you can find in all windows so no need to buy SQL server software. I have some sites with over 8 million emails in them and you can search through all of them in a matter of seconds. Security is easy to setup. The Outlook plugin makes it easy to find and restore email to whatever folder in your Outlook you want to. The software will work with Office 365 if you have a Exchange hybrid deployment setup. It compresses and dedplicates the email store so you do not have an lost space (8 million emails stored in a 850GB of space). You can import PST from other companies so if you acquire a company, just import the PST. The support team does find solutions for you.
To use with Office 365 you have to have a hybrid setup with the Journal mailbox located on the Exchange Hybrid server. You cannot import directly from mailboxes located in the Office 365 environment, you have to dump them to PST and then import them. (Note: when exporting the mailbox set the filter to emails only, some other email types will crash the import). No clean way to export email to a PST. BIN2PST only allows you to export all the email for 1 day. Another option to get the email out of the archive is to search and restore them to a folder in your mailbox but you just can't dump all of the emails for the user to a PST. The server side software will not run on Windows Server 2019. Something in the IIS application does not work properly. If you are a global admin for all of the email you must at a set the criteria only to return email for you then put in the other search criteria. Support for the software is in England and can only be reach by submitting a ticket in the web interface, the time difference can be a problem if you have an urgent need.
Office 365 setup can be complicated. The E-Discovery process is so much easier.
E discovery is very easy with this software. I have some site where all email older than 90 days is removed from the system and the user uses the archiver to search for older ones, which is really fast. I needed something that cannot modify emails after they were received.
