Email Marketing: Klaviyo gets the job done!

What do you like best?

I like how Klaviyo integrates with our website and makes eCommerce simple and easy to manage - to an extent. More on that later. I can easily clean up my audiences and keep engaged email users on top of my list and get strong ROI. The templates are also designer-friendly, as well as, user-friendly! I am a jack of all trades in my position, so it's nice to have pre-made templates that make it simpler to get content out to our users.

Another aspect of this software is that it is easy to navigate. Everything is clean and right where I think I would put it. It was definitely designed for the busy marketer in mind!

What do you dislike?

This isn't Klaviyo's fault but their API doesn't integrate with our Magento platform. However, our website team has customized the platform so much that it's no fault to Klaviyo.

I do wish Klaviyo had better templates and a few more innovative aspects to building emails, e.g. more design options for cleanliness and optimal layouts. I will "shop" other retail stores and see what they do with their email marketing campaigns and I find myself wishing for automation and different email features.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I recommend outlining your needs with email marketing first. Once you know what your objectives are with using this software, I promise that your return on it will skyrocket. It took us a little bit to figure out (due to the API integration on our website being funky), but once we got the ball rolling on high quality audiences, we were getting that return we aimed for!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The problem was that I was not able to keep my audience organized and it made it difficult to market to the right categories, etc. that I wanted. With Klaviyo, I was able to segment and keep engaged email users at a top priority and ensured my email marketing efforts were seen by the right people! This benefited in saving time but maximizing our ROI for email marketing.

Another problem I had with our previous email marketing software was that html would sort of "bust open." I can't explain it but in some email inboxes, the code would just fall apart and users would get strings and strings of code. With Klaviyo, I never had an issue with that - not saying we coded our own emails - but emails would come in clean, would get a lot of clicks, and we were able to track what pages each email user were going to and we would make segmented audiences based on that data. A win-win!
