Macaw Agency Management System supports the functions and workflows of Insurance Agencies, Brokers and Managing General Agents.

The functional areas supported are CRM, Sales, Underwriting, Policy management, Claims recording and tracking, Billing, Payments, Customer self-service and Producer self-service. The front end is responsive and mobile-enabled. The insurance products across lines of business are configurable, and hence easy to change. The Rating and Underwriting capabilities are extremely detailed and flexible. Macaw has a built-in Document Manager, a built-in Analytics Engine and ready adapters for many inter-connected utilities like Payment gateways, Automated email marketing tools and Telephony providers.

What do you like best?

That this is an all in one solution to all of the different processes. Macaw allows both internal and external users to be able to service accounts performing any function required on a policy. Being able to manage customers as well as offer products from the same system was one of the driving factors in using the system.

What do you dislike?

the number of bugs and inconsistencies. Often little bugs are found in different areas that may not see as much use. This reduces the confidence in the system

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The NEST team is very responsive and straightforward to work with. For any considering using Macaw i would recommend building out complete business cases with every variation and detail possible. This will allow NEST to properly plan and build the solution required.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Moving all of the system to the cloud allows for easy remote access. We have been able bring some customers into the system to fully service their own policy. We are looking to have a majority of our policies to be self servicing and not require communications with the customer service teams. Macaw has allowed a big step in that direction.
