Very flexible and highly adaptable, but be clear about what you need.
What do you like best?
The SureCloud platform has the ability to be tailored to the very specific needs of our organisation, both during design and, to a slightly lesser extent, post go-live. This has allowed us to identify and respond to issues or changes (e.g. organisational, procedural, etc.) quickly and ensures that our implementation remains current and in line with the needs of the organisation throughout the platform's lifecycle.
Much of this can be done without the need for direct involvement of SureCloud themselves, resulting in significant time and cost savings, and ultimately, providing a platform that can truly be said to be tailored to our needs.
What do you dislike?
Responsiveness could be improved in some areas, particularly when creating new forms, loading larger forms, or loading dashboards. This issue appears to be directly correlated to the complexity of the form/dashboard being loaded or of the dataset/s behind it. Whilst the majority of users are unlikely to encounter much in the way of delays, those roles that work in multiple areas of the platform over an extended period, may find the delay on loading somewhat of a frustration at times.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be clear and detailed, about your requirements before you start! SureCloud is very adaptable and flexible but with this positive is the danger that unfocused requirements leads you down a path that needs adjusting later in the implementation when you realise that something you should have accounted for earlier needs some part of the implementation changing or removing.
As good as SureCloud's support is (and it is very good), having someone internal that understands how your implementation is structured and the limits of what can and cannot be changed, updated, etc. and how, after go-live is invaluable.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Almost too many to list. Full compliance with the requirements of data protection legislation has now become a real possibility (particularly in relation to our Records of Processing Activities). We have been to interlink a variety of datasets together to build our oversight of information, systems, processing and Processors, in a way which simply would not have been feasible before.
The platform has transformed our DPIA's into a consistent, streamlined, manageable, process that is accessible to all the necessary parts of the organisation with minimal training needed.
It has enabled oversight of compliance at the touch of button and, as a DPO, this is a lifesaver.
