What do you like best?

DAT is useful for finding outbound carriers that are posting in a specific city/region, with their desired destination preferences. This also includes the best contact to reach out to, as well as the truckload equip they are posting for (van, reefer, flatbed, sprinter, etc...)

It is also helpful for finding carriers who frequent a certain region, to get lanes quoted for current or potential freight business.

What do you dislike?

Downsides to DAT are for usability -- those who are posting available loads and/or trucks should be required to fill out all the specs necessary (time available, commodity, equipment, contact number) in order to successfully submit a post -- this would help streamline the process for both brokers and carriers.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Great as an insight and learning tool, however it takes away from the relationship-building that comes with the freight industry.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Benefits include the ability to use all features of DAT to do extra digging when researching lanes, quotes, truck availability, etc...you can utilize multiple features to seek out the same information you desire. Problem-solving includes being able to utilize the real-time boards for freight coverage.
