Compiere

What do you like best?

It's Java based architecture makes it very extensible and out of the box it comes with a complete set of features. Also it has a somewhat powerful platform to make some improvements without the need of coding.

What do you dislike?

Compiere is somewhat obsolete. It has a strong but peculiar architecture, and devs need to learn it from scratch in order to make changes and improvements. Also on large scale scenarios its performance decays. Adding new modules is possible but is not the easiest and there are other more modern options that are more suitable for this.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I've implemented Compiere in a handful of companies. Specially related to wholesale and distribution. Modules about purchases, accounts receivable. invoicing and debts are pretty functional out of the box.

In some cases we integrated Compiere with the company's legacy systems and some other in-house systems (warehouse management). It was possible but not quite easy though.
