Widen cares about it's DAM users and I'm thankful for it.

What do you like best?

Support is fantastic. Chat and email tech support is readily available. There is a forum to discuss things with other users and interactive meetings. These are fantastic as DAM is a tiny industry and most co-workers don't know what we do. Their extensive support articles are kept updated. They even provide access to their roadmap so you can see what they're working on next and provide feedback.

The interface is intuitive and kept up to date aesthetically and functionally. Widen listens to users and adjust their product as needed. Portals allow for tiny basic websites to be created with a subset of assets. This is really useful for users who don't need access to the full site or will only be visiting occasionally.

What do you dislike?

There are arguably too many admin controls. Fortunately, they walk you through them during onboarding and are always available if a refresher is needed. Onboarding was a little slow early on but I was also coming from an already established DAM and knew what I wanted.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The support options here are incredible. They care about their users succeeding and come up with inventive ways to ensure it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Widen (and all DAMs) provide a single source of assets for both internal and external users. We primarily use it for photography but Widen will support any file type. Metatdata entry is straightforward and search works fantastic once that metadata has been added. External clients love to pull product photography for their websites and we love it's the correct professionally shot images. I'm not sure what more I could ask for in a DAM, the value surpasses the cost for us.
