SAP Marketing Cloud Reviews

Andrej B.

Advanced user of SAP Marketing Cloud
★★★★★
Very powerfull marketing platform that is missing some basic things

What do you like best?

Segmentation is one of the highlights of this tool. It is fast, powerful and easy to use.

Contact match and merge process is also something worth mentioning. SAP Marketing Cloud generate a golden record of a contact that can be generated from multiple sources. This helps your marketing to work with "people" and not just "contacts".

Also the data set that you can work with is well thought out - there is a lot of prebuild objects that you can use (interactions, products, interests, agreements). But if you have a need, you can allways create your own and connect it to other objects in the system.

SAP Marketing Cloud also allows you to integrate in almost any way possible.

What do you dislike?

Comparing it to most other marketing platforms that do marketing automation, SAP Marketing Cloud really should have a native universal web tracker. There is one if you also use SAP Commerce Cloud but in all other cases there is not any good solutions for this. There is an option for Google Analytics integration but requires SAP Cloud Platfrom Integration and it messess with your utm_campaign tags because it uses the campaign ID instead of some name that can be understood by humans.

Then there are features that could be made better if native web tracking was available. Form prefill (not jut on the page after email click), progressive profiling on forms, ...

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use it to generate and work with new leads.

But we mainly use it to work with our existing customers and perform lifecycle marketing - so we have a lot of automated campaign that can respond to contact events.
