Advanced user of Salesforce ShieldEvent Monitoring is best if a Organization/Company is based on different region, and want to see if any one region user is accessing data from other region. Or If anyone is downloading the data in bulk, all this can be detected.
As part of Salesforce Shield, you have the field history tracking available, but you can not do query on the old value (previous value) or new value. As sometime analysis is needed for auditing, and its become hard to so the analysis, but one can use in the critera while creating report. But it takes too much time to generate the report.
Start using it, its a great feature.
Like Event monitoring, we want developer to have read only access to production data to do the issue analysis, but at the same place, dont want anyone to download the data in bulk, so we have a monitor in place for the same using event monitoring data. Also monitoring is place so that one region user is not accessing the other region data based on user country and data recordtype.
