Advanced user of Oracle VirtualizationOracle Virtualization has been my favorite tool for managing, editing and creating virtual machines for a long time. The interface is intuitive, it is possible to configure in detail the resources available for each virtual machine and I never had any really serious problems running the virtual machines. It is an excellent tool for me to test features, configurations, before actually applying them to my physical machines. The software has interesting features, such as the possibility of virtual machines recognizing real connected peripherals, in addition to graphical configurations. It is a fundamental tool for any IT professional.
- There is no native support for legacy ports
- I had some problems with directories shared between the virtual machine and the physical machine. This is important for the transmission of files and programs.
- The consumption of RAM is also a little high. It is recommended that your machine has at least 8GB of RAM.
Oracle's virtualization system may not be the one with the most resources available, but its ease of use and interface for me are enough for me to perform the necessary functions. Integration between virtual machines can be a problem, but for me it does what is necessary.
I always need to test new versions of software, security tools and applications to be tested. In addition, I need to mount images of operating systems to be installed on machines and servers. Oracle Virtualization is used to validate these operating system images.
